The Three Lions Bring Back Saka But Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden & Jack Grealish Are Left Out

Bukayo Saka in action

Bukayo Saka has netted a dozen goals in 44 games for England.

England have recalled Bukayo Saka for upcoming games against Wales and Latvia, yet there's no spot for Bellingham, Foden or Jack Grealish.

Arsenal forward Saka missed last month's World Cup qualifying victories against Serbia and Andorra due to a muscle problem.

Saka recently returned for Arsenal and found the net in their victory over the Greek side on Wednesday.

Saka comes in for Arsenal team-mate Noni Madueke, who is sidelined until November because of a knee problem.

The Three Lions meet the Welsh in a warm-up match at the national stadium on Thursday before a qualifying match in Latvia on 14 October.

Should England triumph against Latvia, they will require a just two more points from their last two matches against Serbia and Albania in the next month to reach the World Cup in North America.

Leverkusen's Jarell Quansah replaces Newcastle's Tino Livramento, who is sidelined for two months after sustaining a knee issue against Arsenal recently.

Elliot Anderson and Spence, who received their first England call-ups last month, keep their spots. Loftus-Cheek also keeps his spot, even with the return to fitness of Wharton.

Saka has only played one game for Tuchel since taking over as England manager, because of fitness and hamstring injuries.

Bellingham missed the previous squad as he was rehabilitating after a shoulder operation and has only made a single start for Real Madrid since returning from injury.

The Manchester City player was left out from Tuchel's last England squad after a dip in performance and has been unsuccessful in returning, despite a strong start to the season with Manchester City.

The forward also misses out in spite of a revival in form with Everton. The 30-year-old has not featured for the national team since last year.

'Focus on omissions over inclusions'

The manager’s new selection draws attention to the players the boss has left out rather than the players he has selected.

Bellingham’s exclusion may cause surprise but Tuchel believes there is no need to recall the Madrid midfielder.

City’s Foden and loanee Grealish have both performed well in the early stages of the season.

Those who the manager used in England's qualifying victories against Serbia and Andorra merit the reward of continuity.

There will be disappointment that Arsenal's Madueke is not involved because of injury.

The Forest player has looked right at home at international level.

The England boss is a fan of Grealish, especially, as well as the City star.

One unexpected move, it is the absence of Palace’s Wharton.

The star, of course, will be needed in the future.
